Catch Up

I took a small hiatus. No posting. No watching Korean anything. No variety shows. No K-pop music videos.  Nothing. Why? Finals! So many finals! And studying! And reports! And just school in general!

But that is all in the past now, since I have officially taken my last test and turned in my last assignment. Summer is here! Yay!

Now I can resume my drama watching.

Oh, how I have missed them. I stopped watching Blood because of a research paper that needed to be finished, so I still haven't seen that. Ugh. Then I stopped watching Sensory Couple because of finals. So I haven't been able to watch the most recent episodes. I must restart!

Me being an avid Pinner on Pinterest, I have seen so many pictures of Sensory Couple, and all I can do is quickly scroll down the screen, so my fast English-subtitle-reading eyes don't see what is in the screencaps.

Well, soon I will be all caught up and I can read every single one I see. Until then!

Sensory Couple Episode 10

First off, we start off with Lt. Yeom looking at the montage. Wow, it looks exactly like her! Hair and everything. Even that little wisp of hair that is sticking out behind her ears! Sorry, I know I’m not supposed to notice, but I saw that and started laughing.

This scene was… just… I have used this word numerous times (and I will probably continue to do so) to describe this drama, but I need to use it again. It was ADORABLE! They are becoming one of my favorite Kdrama couples. He is such a tease!

Then we have Chef Kwon saying he wants to get to know her better. Is he trying to go on a date with her or is her suspicious of her? If it is the former, she has a boyfriend now Chef Kwon. If it is the latter, Cho Rim, you need to hurry and remember everything, so the police can catch him and you can be safe.

I like how she used her powers to help Moo Gak escape from the chef’s house. When that scene was happening, I kept thinking, “Don’t text him! “ Thankfully she didn’t and gave her boyfriend his chance for escape.

Then there is the scene when they are in the park and he says that he would do anything to catch the person who killed his sister. He says that having just talked with your family member, and then seeing them dead, and how she hasn’t experienced it. I remembered that she does. Oh no, our adorable, yet tragic-back-story couple.

They are both lefties. Sorry random fact and something I noticed a while back, but now there is a shot of them eating together.

Anyway, then we get some cute scenes of them being a couple. I loved how each one dreamt up them being together and then the reality of the situation. There was Cho Rim giving Moo Gak a back hug, and in reality slipping and passing out.

Then, Moo Gak snuggles up with Cho Rim and in reality he just fell asleep.

But in the end they both get what they want, a snuggle/hug for Moo Gak and liking the opposite of what the other likes for Cho Rim. They have gone all out with the feels for this episode.

For the last scene, we have Chef Kwon with a terrified Cho Rim and someone is going to be suspicious, I just know it! They leave us with a cliffhanger like that, and now I am so worried. I love Kdramas, but I hate the angst I feel when they leave the ending with a cliffhanger and I have to wait till next week to see how it will play out. Thankfully, because I have been so busy and I haven’t been able to watch this drama (and my other dramas), I only have to wait a day for the next episode. I am terribly sorry to all of you out there that have been dutiful watchers and have had to wait a whole week with that angst building up inside of you.

Well, until then chingus!

Sensory Couple Update

I have been so busy lately. First I had a major test, which I had not studied for, which I was totally ready for. Phff. I'm a good student and don't procrastinate. Then I had a project to do and my teacher kind of just dropped it on us, so that was LOADS of fun. I also had two birthday parties that I had to attend and I needed to pig out at both of them. I also really needed to clean my room, because I am a very messy person. So all of these things happened, preventing me from watching my precious kdramas.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Anyway, trying to clean your room and watching a show that you need to read subtitles for is a very hard thing to do, and you end up just do thing over the other. In my case, at the end of an hour, I still had a messy room.

So after finishing everything, except my room which is still a work in progress, (Rome wasn't built in a day!), I have finally, almost caught up with Sensory Couple. OH MY GOODNESS! This couple is adorable. I still need to see episode 10, hence the "almost caught up."

But they kissed! And it wasn't a stupid eyes-open kiss. Plus they held hands! Then they went shopping together! She tried on this white dress first, which I totally loved! But they ended up going with this yellow dress, still nice, just not my favorite. I am so glad, she wore the yellow dress instead of the one the chef got her. It was rude to not wear the dress he gave her, but he is the villain, so anything that happens to him that doesn't go his way makes me feel a little better on the inside. I absolutely loved the scene where she is dressed in her sweatpants and her hair is in a bun and she goes to meet him. Then he asks what he should call her, his lover, his woman, his darling, or his girlfriend. I squealed with happiness. Afterward, I loved that he said he was going to go show off his girlfriend, sweatpants and all. Anyway, this couple is making me so happy and giddy, I love it!

Also there was an Infinite reference! I'm an Inspirit, so when I saw that part, I instantly smiled.

This is my blog and I can put a picture of cute Korean guys if I want.

Now I need to get something off of my chest. Dr. Chun Baek Kyung, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU GO AND TELL THE BAD GUY THAT THE WITNESS IS ALIVE! You pabo! I sat in front of my laptop calling him an idiot and calling him out on his stupidity. If he hadn't said anything, Chef Kwon wouldn't be looking for her, putting her in danger! True, his search for her gives the police a chance to try and catch him, but now her life is in danger! But this is dramaland and we need something to spur our story onward.

Besides that little rant, I am loving this drama and I really like Park Yoo Chun and Shin Se Kyung and I hope they bring more adorable antics.

The Moon that Embraces the Sun Update

I have finally finished The Moon that Embraces the Sun!

Whew, what a rollercoaster of emotion! One minute I was happy and giggly for my otp, next minute I'm worried about Prince Yang Myung, and then I'm getting angry at the monkey politician.

Look at him. He looks like those monkeys with those faces that have hair all along the edges.

Except I think the monkey is a lot cuter. Just sayin'.

Anyway, I saw Yang Myung start to work together with the Monkey and then my mom and I got worried about his plans to overthrow his brother. But then we saw that he wanted a book of names and we started to think that he was planning on turning the book over. We were right! Ugh, but getting to that revelation had us going along a path of worry and thinking that Yang Myung was a bad person. Then he went and sacrificed himself! I was so shocked at first and then as it started to hit me and I saw Kim Soo Hyun's excellent crying skills, I too started to get teary eyed. I understand why he did it and how it tied in to the story at the beginning of the show, but still...WAE!?!?!

So the first queen went crazy and then committed suicide. I was actually still crying because of Yang Myung and then her scene came on and I remember thinking Eh, sorry honey I didn't like you as the queen, and I stopped crying for that minute where she was on screen. Congrats to the actress for making me really dislike her character.

Then the king punished everyone involved, even his sister. I was a little shocked about that, but it's okay because she gets her own little happy ending in the end. And then our main couple has a cute little boy and everyone is happy, they are in love, and it was a beautiful story.

I really liked the way it ended. Yay for happy endings!

Here are some more cute pictures of some monkeys:

Bad Guys Make Me Angry

Just as the title says, the bad guys in Blood are making me angry right now!

First off we have the vampire director and he is using our good team of doctors' sense of responsibility to their patients as a way to gain information about the vaccine.

Plus, we have the Assistant Director who is now keeping secrets for the Director and she is willing to do that in order to gain the hospital.

Then we have the evil doctor, who we found out was an evil doctor before he got this job and he has no remorse for his patients and likes to see them in pain.

Now we even have the Chairman who it turns out killed his brother and sister-in-law. Really?!?!?! Writers! Come on! How many bad guys are there going to be in this drama!

Probably the ones I'm the most angry about is the Assistant Director and the Chairman. The other two we already knew they were bad, and their most recent actions only validate that knowledge. But with the Assistant Director, she was a friend to Ri Ta and she also tried to help find out what was happening in Ward 21A. For her to be so easily swayed by a person that she knows is a murderer and is using the hospital for his own gain, it just makes me so annoyed with her.  In regards to the Chairman, I am just shocked. I honestly wasn't expecting it until he started to bring it up with the Assistant Director.

Who Knew Vampires Could Be So Cute?

I finally got to catch up on watching Blood and this main couple is adorable.

I really loved the scene where he is getting his bed ready and she is just standing there in her winter coat and beanie.

And then they are cuddling in bed! And they look so cute together.

When I first saw who the main couple was going to be, I didn't think I was going to like them. Now I love them so much and they make me giggle whenever they have a cute scene.

Sensory Couple Update

I have been really busy and I have been having to postpone my drama marathons. Sad, I know. Thankfully, I was able to set aside some time and watch the current two episodes of Sensory Couple

I really love the bubbly music and the lighthearted feel that it has and Oh Cho Rim's personality is too cute.

After seeing these current episodes , these are my thougths:

1. I called it! Sort of... As I was watching the show, I saw that Dr. Chun had to piece together that Oh Cho Rim was the witness from Jeju and that her name was Choi Eun Seol. I then thought to myself, maybe he isn't the murderer since he still has to figure this out, or he is a stupid murderer.
Then we find out that it is the Chef Kwon. Called it! The thought had run through my mind, but I didn't really dwell on it as I was watching, so I sort of called it.

2. Is our Officer Choi starting to finally like Cho Rim? Yay! He is starting to worry about her and he is buying her gifts and he is trying to tease her a bit. This makes me happy!

3. I am so glad, that I stopped even slightly shipping Cho Rim and Chef Kwon. Whew, dodged a bullet there. Not really, since I know how drama land works and he will be after her once he finds out who she is.

4. So is the library behind those doors that Moongchi kept barking at? Maybe Moo Gak will put the case of the illegal gambling chicken restaurant and the chef's house plan together and realize he has a large room hidden. Hmm... I will have to wait and see.

5. When will the doctor be found? Also, he had that letter and when will that be found. Hurry up and be delivered little letter, that way Moo Gak can find out who the real killer is.

5. I still want to find out what Moo Gak did to make the troupe leader laugh. Writers, all I am asking for is a flashback and Moo Gak acting like an idiot.

That is it. Until the next two episodes!

The Moon that Embraces the Sun Update

So I have been dutifully watching this show and loving it very much. I finally saw the episode where she remembers everything.

Thank goodness! With each episode that passed I was cheering for her to remember her past, and finally it happened. Took you long enough Yeon Woo. Sheesh.

Where I am currently at, is she has been called in by the Queen and she just saw Yeon Woo's face. What I really want to happen is the Queen sees her and flips out and threatens her saying something along the lines of, its too late for you to have the throne etc. Then I want Yeon Woo to be all, NOPE and say that she will get back what is hers. That would be the best.

So we will have to see. I know there are countless people who have seen and already know what is going to happen, but whatever, a girl can dream right?

Currently Watching: The Moon that Embraces the Sun

GAH! I did it again! I have started another drama!

This time it is The Moon that Embraces the Sun and so far so good. I have only just watched the episode with our grown up Crown Prince, or should I say King. So I finally got to see Kim Soo Hyun, and I have to say that I love all of his little eye rolls every time a bad person speaks. It makes me giggle each time.

I only started this one because I was crocheting and wanted to watch something, so I wouldn't sit in silence with my crochet project. So I saw that it was on Netflix and I haven't seen it yet, so it was perfect. As I was watching the first episode, my mom sits down and starts watching it with me. She had only missed the first twenty-ish minutes, so it was easy to explain what was going on.

BOOM!! Just like that we were hooked and we watched three episodes that night.

I really like having someone watch dramas with me. After each episode, we sit there for a minute and rapidly discuss what we think will happen, or if one of us is confused, someone is there to explain, or the next morning we will have all these theories about the plot. I just find it so much fun to have someone to actually talk to.

So even though I already have so many other dramas on my plate, I continue to watch this drama because my mom is willing to actually watch it with me. And because it is good and has an interesting plot. And because of the handsome Kim Soo Hyun. And because of his little eye rolls and smirks.

The Long Awaited Kiss

Blood finally had a kiss!!! Oh my goodness, it took a while.

I have been patiently waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I mean there were some moments that it could have happened and the writers decided to pass up the opportunity. I personally thought thy could have kissed when they were coloring, or after the back hug, but that might just be me.

At least they gave us the back hug scene. That calmed down my need for some romance in this drama, but then I saw the preview and I got all excited, giddy, and ready for the next episode.

I will admit that their kiss/romance was a little bit more realistic, minus the whole vampire virus and him turning into a handsome green-eyed model, because when he first met her, he didn't like her, but he grew to be okay with her. Then he got closer and closer and then he found out Ri Ta was the girl in pink, and that only compelled them to get even closer. So they became friends, shared secrets, had their cute moments (and a hug), realized their feelings, and then kissed.

I personally like it when dramas are like that. Really, I just like that for TV and movies, in general.

So far, I like where this drama is going. Now I just need the Director to stop being a meanie and for our nice team of doctors to go and stop a virus.

First Impressions: Sensory Couple

So far, I really like this drama. There are only four episodes out and I really like them. I'm also slightly angry because I started a currently airing drama and now I have to face the consequences.

I am a little worried about the upcoming episodes. First off we have the evil doctor, Chun Baek Kyung. Ugh, I really liked him as the older brother in Reply 1997, and here he is playing a bad guy. I have never seen him in any other shows, so I will admit that I am excited to see him play a bad character, but that still doesn't mean I'm not worried about how he will affect our main couple. What is he going to do?

Also we have the famous chef, Kwon Jae Hee and is he going to be a part of a love triangle? I like him and he seems like a nice guy, but I already ship Choi Moo Gak and Oh Cho Rim. Not sorry. Sorry.

The female police investigator, Yeom Mi... I can see her liking Choi Moo Gak. For me, that is a big no-no, because like I said I already have a ship. I do feel sorry for her though, since the other detectives don't like her.

Now for the main couple. Oh Cho Rim... She is cute and bubbly and I just really like her. Also, how and when will she regain her memories? It is bound to happen right? This is dramaland we are talking about here. Also why did her "Dad" take her in and hide her from other detectives? I hope that is explained in a later episode.  I also like Choi Moo Gak and I feel sorry that he lost his sister. Plus, he was all playful and happy and now he isn't. I really hope that he goes back to his adorable ways. I mean, look at him before and after. *sad face*

I also REALLY want to know what Moo Gak did to make the troupe leader laugh. I remember sitting there just thinking "Tell me!" They better have a flashback to that scene or I will be so disappointed.

So far, so good. I have some great expectations for this drama and I hope that they get fulfilled in every way.

Currently Watching: Sensory Couple

Well… against my better judgment I have decided to start a new drama, Sensory Couple AKA The Girl Who Sees Smells.

As a general rule, I give a drama two episodes to woo me with its awesomeness. After watching the first episode I was hooked. I wanted to see the second episode so badly, but it was way past my bedtime and if I didn't go to bed, I would have looked a mess come morning.

So, I am totally ready for the happiness and sadness that usually comes with a drama and I cant wait to see what is to come with this new drama.

Unfinished Business

As I stated in the previous post, I am watching eight dramas. Eight! What is sad is that most of them just have one episode left or maybe a couple left, but I just haven't watched them.  I want to, but there is maybe no desire to finish it, no time to finish, or since I am watching a current drama I put them on hold. If this continues I might just drop them or just find a recap online and read about what happened and not even try to watch the rest of the drama.

The dramas I currently have to finish are Bad Guys, Empress Ki, High School King of Savvy, Jiu, Joseon Gunman, and The King's Face. Blood and Who Are You are also on this list, but I am currently both watching them.

Bad Guys: I only saw the first two episodes, and it was interesting and I wanted to watch them. The only problem was that it wasn't as highly subbed as other dramas were. So I just skipped over it, thinking that I would wait for it to be subbed and watch it. I didn't do that.

Empress Ki: I actually really like this drama and I am on episode 31 of the 51, but finishing 51 episodes is a time commitment. I love the actress and actors, but I had to stop due to school and I just haven't picked it up again. Maybe in the summer when I have more time I will continue with this drama.

High School King of Savvy: I have one episode left. I saw the preview and I've seen screenshots of the drama, and I don't know if I want to see the ending that I think it is. I saw the preview and thought, I don't want that to happen. Maybe I'll just read a recap for this one and move on.

Jiu: I usually only watch Korean dramas, but I made an exception this time with a Japanese drama because I really like one of the actors. Jiu has Kim Myung Soo, better known as L from INFINITE. I am an Inspirit, so I kept seeing their leader Sung Gyu making fun of L and I found out that he was quoting this drama. So I wanted to watch it. I have two episodes left, and I know I'll finish it someday.

Joseon Gunman: I started this when I had a lull in my drama watching. Nothing had come out that I wanted to watch. For some reason I started this drama, but I only got half way. I like the story, but I just need to finish it.

The King's Face: I guess you can see that I like Seo In Guk, since this is my second drama on this list with him. I like saeguks and this one was no exception, but I think there was a holiday that happened so I missed an episode and then I got off schedule and I just never came back. I will finish this too, since I do like Seo In Guk, but I don't know when.

Wow... Typing all this out has made me realize that I just need to finish these dramas. Life just gets in the way, making it hectic and sometimes you have to put other things first. I'll just finish these during the summer when I am able to do what I want.

Currently Watching: Who Are You

I decided to start a new drama and as it was the weekend, I got to watch eight a couple of episodes of the drama. And even though I am also currently watching, I think seven other dramas, I decided to start a new one.

So I started Who Are You, starring So Yi Hyun, Ok Taecyeon, and Kim Jae Wook.

So quick summary of what has happened so far… please know that spoilers are ahead.

Summary

So, Lee Hyung Joon, a detective, is on a boat and is investigating some bad guys. Then something happens and he is shot and killed by a mysterious person. All of this is seen by Shi Ohn, another detective, who is on the boat for an unknown reason. As she tries to escape she is hit in the head and passes out.

Six years pass and she has been in a coma. Suddenly, she wakes up and gets questioned about the crime and is told to go to therapy. While there she tells the doctors that she is seeing ghosts. The doctor then asks if she is seeing them now and she says no, but then one of the other doctors in the room gets up and walks towards the window. She sees that he has a major head wound and then he falls out the window. One of the doctors was a ghost!

Shi Ohn now works in the Lost and Found Center with her new coworker Gun Woo and while doing inventory she comes across other ghosts. She solves their cases and Gun Woo is now suspicious as to how she knew everything. She confesses to him and he doesn’t believe her. She gains his trust when she finally see his father’s ghost and asks him things only Gun Woo and his father would know.
Now she sees the ghost of Hyung Joon, the guy on the boat, and she realizes that something is wrong about that case. As she tries to piece the case together, a mysterious man keeps trying to hurt her or prevent her from finding out the truth. Each time this happens, Gun Woo helps her and saves her and is worried about her.

Currently their office has the weekend off and so Gun Woo went with Shi Ohn to the movies. And he was awkwardly adorable as he realized he likes her, so he tries putting his arm around her with the yawn-and-stretch trick, but fails in any attempt. After dropping her off at her home, he sees her phone in his car and goes back to give it to her. He teases her, saying his spiel he usually does when someone comes into the Lost and Found Center to get an item. When he doesn’t give it back they play a little tug-of-war game with the phone and he accidentally pulls her towards him. She lets go, peeved and he continues his spiel asking for her ID saying how he can’t give it back for free. Jokingly she then says maybe he wants a kiss as payment. He ends up giving it to her and turns to leave. He stops and has a determined look on his face and then walks back and kisses her. She is shocked, needless to say and then he leans in again for another kiss.

Comments/Concerns

Woo hoo! The last paragraph is in more detail since I just watched it last night so it is fresh in my mind. But that kiss! I fangirled in front of my computer because I was so shocked and happy. I also liked watching him not like her at first, then slowly warm up to her and like her. And how he was acting at the movies was adorable.

I am worried about Shi Ohn and Hyung Joon, since it is known that they were a couple in the past, but she can’t remember it, but she knows that they somehow knew each other. What I am also worried about is Gun Woo’s mentor. He seems to be hiding evidence and telling lies and if he is a bad guy, Gun Woo will be crushed. What I am curious about is the reason for their case on the boat and why everyone has hid it from Shi Ohn. Also, like I mentioned, Gun Woo’s mentor is lying and it seem he is lying about Hyung Joon, who he was, and what he did. This man is going to disappoint me. I can feel it.

I don’t know if it was smart or idiotic of me to start a new drama when I already have so many on my plate, but my mission is already a go, so there is no stopping me.

Currently Watching: Blood

So a drama that I am currently watching is the drama Blood.

It has Ahn Jae Hyun, who I think is handsome and I love his very deep voice. It also has Goo Hye Sun, but you probably know her better as Geum Jan Di in Boys over Flowers. It is about Park Ji Sang, a vampire who is also a doctor, but wants to be human. In the hospital where he works there is a another doctor, Yoo Ri Ta, and they become friends and help each other through a troubling time in the hospital, especially since there are bad vampires who threaten his dream of being human.

I happened to see the first episode, but it didn't really draw me in and I also had a test to study for the next day, so I didn't see the next episode. Well, about 2 weeks later I decided that I should give the second episode a chance. Boom! I was hooked. It was interesting and I was glad that I went back to watch it. So I quickly caught up to the current episode and I have been watching it ever since.

Spoiler Ahead!

So the last episode I saw was episode 12 and how it left off was one of the bad minions was in Ri Ta's house and Ji Sang was fighting him and realized he was one the men who killed his mom. Oh no...

I am actually kind of worried. Will he change into a vampire? Will he kill the baddie? Will Ri Ta see the bad part of him? Ugh, countless questions are going through my head and I can't type them fast enough. And of course, when the writers/director leaves you with such an intense cliffhanger, they don't have a preview at the end of the episode.

At least the next episode comes out on Monday and I will be worriedly patiently waiting for it.

My Main Idea

Hello and welcome to my blog, Kimchee & Ramen! This blog is for me to talk about Korean dramas. No one in my family wants to hear me talk about them, so I need an outlet that lets me let everything out. So, this is where the blog comes in. On here, I can rant about a current drama I am watching and at least let some of my thoughts out. Sound like a good enough plan?
